DIY COTTON LACE BIKINI

lace bikini diy costume beachwear

It is getting SO HOT these days and I can't help but thinking about Summer.
I mean, who doesn't think about Summer?
I planned a beach weekend for the end of May and I can't wait for that!
But, as always it happens when you plan a beach weekend, you open your
wardrobe and find only old bikinis and maybe you bought them the year before, but
for your eyes they look like a mountain of used stuff and "oh, I didn't even remember about that!".
I am here, today, to show you how to restyle an old bikini in about 10 minutes and
restrain your immediate desire to buy a new one (and use that saved money for
a cocktail and a dinner on the beach!).
I think I love lace everyday more, it gives a classy touch even to a simple shirt (here
an example of my lace-affair).
I know that maybe you can't sew, and maybe you are all "oh no, an other sewing post" now,
but hey, I couldn't do it too until recently and this is a
DO IT YOURSELF blog, we are here to learn new things and, I am sure, when you will see
that you can create that top you saw on Pinterest, but giving it your personal touch and
saving a lot of money (remember the cocktail and the dinner on the beach...?) you won't
help but it! So, give you a chance!

//

Io so che magari non tutte sapete cucire e forse ora state pensando "oh no, un altro

You need // Vi occorre:

- An old bikini. // Un vecchio bikini.
- 1 mt (39 in) of cotton lace. // 1 mt di pizzo in cotone.
- Needle and thread. // Ago e filo.
- Scissors. // Forbici.

How to // Come procedere:

1)
Measure the lace directly on your bikini following its shape, on the two bra cups and the panties,
then cut the 3 pieces of lace, abound of 1 cm (0,39 in) per each side (for the hems). //

2)
Start sewing the first piece of lace to one bra cup, if it is a padded one, you can sew the lace
to the internal side, so if you one day will want to remove the lace, you won't have uneasthetic
sewing holes on the front.

3)
Your finished bra cup will look like that. Now sew the second cup and the bikini panties.

4)
Voilà! You have (yet) done! I am sure you can't wait to wear it (it will come with me on my
weekend at the sea) and yes, to enjoy the cocktail and dinner on the beach. We deserved it! //
