DIY PRINTED BOWS TIGHTS

printed bows tights diy fashion

I can remember perfectly those childhood moments when my mum dressed me and my two sisters
(my brother was still not on plans) for the Christmas Eve with our party dresses.
And those unbearable tights.
Once arrived at my grandparents' home, we put off dresses and started running around
in our wool tights, with no shame and for my mum's joy.
If it was my choice, I'd put off the tights too, but it was Winter, not a good idea.
Yes, because when I think about tights and me as a child, I just remember that I HATED them.
I had to wear them on festivities or worse, on school recitals, maybe dressed up like a flower (my god),
and I used to spend the whole time adjusting them on my legs and trying to not break in some chairs.
Not so much has changed from that, but at least now I can avoid breaking them after 5 minutes.
I know, I know, tights are so essential for a girl and this is why I force myself to use them
feeling bagged for the whole evening/night and spending hours, before, to smooth perfectly my nails
so that they can't break them, but let me say one thing:
IF I HAVE TO DO IT, THEN LET ME DO IT COOL.
So, I decided to decorate my tights with bows, so that they look less odious to my eyes.
I like stand printed tights, doing by yourself is so funny and, incredible, makes me wanna
wear them!
The power of DIY.

//

You need // Vi occorre:

- A pair of sheer tights. // Un paio di calze velate.
- Indelible pen. // Pennarello indelebile a punta fine.
- Paper leaf. // Foglio di carta.
- Chalk. // Gessetto.

How to // Come procedere:

1)
Start drawing on your leaf a bow (about 5 cm / 1,9 in). If you are not able (read= you are too lazy) to,
you can use mine.

2)
Wear your tights and sign with the chalk the point where you want the bow. // Indossate le calze
e col gessetto segnate il punto dove volete il fiocco.

3)
Fold the leaf  so that it can fit the width of the tights, insert it and copy the bow you drew
on the point signed with the chalk.

4)
Do it for both sides. // Ripetete anche per l'altra gamba.

5)
Voilà! So pretty, not? // Voilà! Carini, no?

I am wearing the second sweater I chose from Dresslink (here the first).
I think it's simply perfect with my new tights!
I talked about this online shop here and about the huge choice of clothes and accessories they have.
This grey sweater counts for two! I can wear it as a dress or, turning it upside down, as
a sweater with a large soft neck. Two for one price: cool, not?
If you like my sweater and want to shop it, click here!

  3. Hahaha it looks like a tattoo! I like the idea. You are very handy. I though the same, I don't like wearing tight but sometimes there's no option...it's cold outside.

Nice post, looking forward what is the next post about.

I have to admit I'm still not the huge fan of tights and I avoid it to wear them as far as I can :) Thanks for sharing the lovely and funny story of your Christmas outfits - I think you were already as kid very clever that you put the dress away! Thanks for sharing the lovely idea btw, I will keep it in my mind and hopefully it helps me to love tights more :)

  18. You did a remarkable job, I could have sworn before I read the post title that these were store bought. You know I have similar feelings about tights, and I think it does stem from having to wear them when I was younger as well, lol. As I've gotten older though I've started trying to include tights back into my wardrobe as I think there's just something sexy, and classic about them, you know?
