DIY CHANEL INSPIRED CHAIN BAG

Happy October, guys! How is your Autumn going? I'm still not ready for cold and dark days (the worst thing to me is the dark at 5 pm!) and this is why I'm putting all myself in new DIY projects, so that I can feel more motivated. Like this Chanel inspired bag, because the original one is way too expensive and because a pretty bag (and the right pair of shoes) can make us feel at our best, even when weather would us in our pijamas all day! // Felice ottobre a tutti!

Actually this is a double DIY: yes, because this is a bag stolen from my grandma's closet,
but years ago I modified that adding the chain (it looked too... granny before!).
So, if you don't have a chain bag for this DIY, just keep in mind that you can use
an old one, adding the chain yourself ;)
//

***

You need // Vi occorre:

- A chain bag. // Una borsa con catena.
- A piece of neoprene (better the same color as the bag, or ton sur ton, as I did). //
- Scissors. // Forbici.
- Multihole punch. // Pinza fustellatrice.
2 rivets. // 2 rivetti.

How to // Come procedere:

1)
Measure the length of the chain and cut a string of neoprene as large as the chain rings
and few cm longer than the chain itself.

2)
Starting from one extremity of the chain, insert the neoprene string, leaving about 2 cm
(0,7 in) and making it pass through the rings, once from front, once from behind,
front, behind, front, behind and so on... yes, like you are sewing without the needle. //

3)
Now you have to close the extremities of the string. So, fold one extremity on itself
and make a hole pinching together the two sides. Insert the rivet and close. Repeat for
the other side and you've done!

4)
Voilà! I'm so so satisfied about this DIY, cause it's so easy but the final result is so cool!
And you can add it or not to your bag depending on the day! So winning! //
