DIY DAMIGIANA RESTYLE

Hi!

The cold weather is arrived here in Milan (finally!) and I start feeling like Christmas is near.

Very near. Too near.

There are a lot of things I wanna post on Christmas/Winter topic, and time seems so short!

Last year I just posted a collection of winter photos, but this month Francine wants to help you giving some diy-present ideas for your friends, family, or your wallet!

Let's start with a creative way to recycle an old demijohn.

You've seen here my first diy post, here a new home object with rustic taste, obtained from an unused wine container.

It was my grandpa's (and it's 40 years old!) and I treasure it so much, but it was too old and the rope was ruined, so, once again with my mom, I decided to restyle it and give it a new life in our veranda.
Here its transformation...

Il freddo è arrivato qui a Milano (finalmente!) e io comincio a sentirmi come se Natale fosse vicino.

Molto vicino. Troppo vicino.

Ci sono un sacco di cose che voglio postare in tema natalizio/invernale e il tempo è così scarso!

L'anno passato ho semplicemente pubblicato una collezione di foto invernali, ma questo mese Francine vuole aiutarvi dandovi qualche idea per regali fatti in casa per amici, familiari, o il vostro portafogli! 

Cominciamo con un modo creativo di riciclare una vecchia damigiana.

Avete visto qui il mio primo post diy, ora un nuovo oggetto per la casa dal gusto rustico, ottenuto da un vecchio contenitore per il vino.
La damigiana era di mio nonno (e ha la bellezza di 40 anni!) ed io ci tengo moltissimo, ma era diventata troppo vecchia e la corda si era rovinata, così, nuovamente con mia mamma, ho deciso di sistemarla dandole un posto d'onore in veranda.
Ecco la sua trasformazione...

How to // Come procedere:

1)

First, we took off the rope. I liked it, but the flow of time had left his signs

If you have one in better conditions, you can leave it on and paint it in white, for a more rustic-shabby-chic look. // Per prima cosa abbiamo tolto la corda. A me piaceva molto, ma lo scorrere del tempo aveva lasciato i suoi segni.

Se foste in possesso di una in migliori condizioni, potete tenerla e dipingerla di bianco, per un look ancora più rustico-shabby-chic.

Then we washed it. Attention, it looks simple but the glass of these old demijohns is very fine and fragile and you have to be careful to not break it! // Dopo l'abbiamo pulita. Attenzione, sembra una cosa semplice ma il vetro di queste antiche damigiane è molto sottile e fragile e voi dovete stare attenti a non romperlo!

3)

We took a little piece of a rope and made a bow surrounding the neck of the demijohn, keeping it fixed with a twine. Some desiccated flowers (I love desiccated flowers too!)... // Abbiamo tagliato un piccolo pezzo di corda e l'abbiamo legato intorno al collo della damigiana, fissandolo con dello spago.Un po' di fiori secchi (io amo anche i fiori secchi!)...

Be honest, you want a cup of tea and a good book right now! This is my idea of cozy relax for these cold days! // Siate onesti, ora anche voi avete voglia di una tazzà di tè e di un buon libro! Questa è la mia idea di un confortevole relax per questi giorni freddi!
