HOW TO: SET UP THE PERFECT TEATIME

howto teatime merenda lifestyle francinesplaceblog

All the tips you are looking for you tea hour!

Teatime is one of my favourite moments
of the day, especially now that light goes down
at 4:00 pm and yes, you would just go to hibernation and wake up on March.
A cup of tea is always a good idea, a quite and regenerating time.
I like enjoying a sweet break, with my family or friends, sometimes at the café,
but the most at home, because I love setting up the table with cute mugs, loads of sweets
and different teas. A teatime at home is more comfortable and you can be creative and set it up
as you like most.
But there are few rules to follow, if you want to organize the perfect teatime and
let your guests all "wow!".
Take pencil and paper, ready? Let's go!
//
Prendete carta e penna, pronte? Andiamo!

***

1)
THE HOUR // L'ORA
5:00 pm, no before, no later. The appointment will be at 16:30 at your home, but at 5:00 pm
o'clock tea will be served. // Le 17:00, tassativamente. Prima, troppo presto, dopo, troppo tardi.

2)
FEW GUESTS (BUT GOOD) // POCHI (MA BUONI)
Few guests is the key for a close and pleasant atmoshpere.
Invite your besties, or your sisters/cousins/mom/grandmas/ ... (your boyfriend only if there will be
other males!) but keep in mind that the perfect number will be 5. Not too few, not too many.
Chatter won't become a noisy and confused blahblahblah and, not unimportant thing,
there will be more biscuits for everyone!

3)
WHERE // DOVE
Your livingroom is perfect, but, if you fear for tea spilled on your new, white, chouch, the dining room
will be fine too.

4)
TABLE SET // PREPARAZIONE TAVOLA
Be creative! Yes yes yes to your prettiest cups (it is time to dust off your grandma's teaset!). Pottery, linen tablecloth, teaspoons, knife, dishes and forks for the cake. Your teaset will be so beautiful
and well-finished! On your guests' Instagram in 3...2...1... // Siate creative!
e curato in ogni dettaglio! Sul profilo Instagram dei vostri ospiti fra 3...2...1...

5)
THE TEA // IL TÈ
The special guest: the tea. Etiquette would have only melted tea, but today everyone has their own tastes.
Me decaffeinated, me with lemon, me with cinnamon oh no I changed idea with vanilla and bye bye
peaceful moment! The solution? A big tea pot for water and different tea varieties on table. Don't forget
milk, sugar, honey, mint and some lemon slices.

6)
FOOD // CIBO
It seems that we arrived at favourite point! Like "okay, this is easy: everything". And I would say
yesyesyes, but remember that this is not your dinner and you will have to eat about two hours later.
And if you are going out with your boy, it could be not so nice saying: <<I look at you eating,
i ate like a pig this afternoon>>. So, okay to biscuits, pastries, dried fruit and a homemade cake
(the Strudel will be perfect!), but please, the second portion of everything is not as necessary
as it seems.
Dunque okay a biscotti,

7)
ATMOPSHPERE // ATMOSFERA
Background music, soffused lights and lots of talks! And, to end in style, a little gift for your guests:
an organic jam,a pack of ginger biscuits, a flower. Easy to understand that you'll become the Queen of Teatimes!

Tea is very important in my family, and gathering with a cup and some candles lit is something I knew and cherished when growing up.

  18. Many thanks, dear Francine, for sharing this adorable post! In my opinion teatime is high class! I really like your suggestion to invite people for teatime and not for coffee as usual. The only thing I need now is a precious tea-service. But I'm confident I will find a way to get such a tea-service.
    And you look beautiful <3
