DIY EMBELLISHED DENIM SHORTS

lace denim shorts diy fashion

There has been a time in my life (when I was 14-15) that was the flaired jeans time. Those so flaired pants which, in raining days, got wet till over the knees and became so heavy that it was a pleasure to walk in.
Passed their glorious moment, some of them went to unknown roads, others turned directly up in the garbage can, but two or three were saved and conserved for better times.
In particular, I obtained this denim shorts cutting one of them when I was 17 (and I don't tell you how askew I did it), but just few days ago I decided to restyle them with the help of my grandma, giving a new, more classy life.
So, if you have old glories hidden in your wardrobe like me, and want to re-wear them without shame, this diy is for you!
Let's start!

//

Iniziamo!

You need // Vi occorre:

- A pair of denim shorts. // Un paio di shorts di jeans.
- Needle and thread. // Ago e filo.
- Pins. Spilli.
- Scissors. // Forbici.
- A band of fabric (I chose this cotton one, that looked like lace).
- A sewing machine. // Una macchina da cucire.

How to // Come procedere:

1)
First, fix the band with pins and measure the lenght, then cut it in two parts.

2)
Now sew the band by hand with basting thread; it will took some time and sweat (jean is a tough fabric!).

3)
Prepare your sewing machine... // Preparate la vostra macchina da cucire...

4)
Sew your band with the sewing machine.

5)
Et voilà! They're ready! // Et voilà! Sono pronti!
