CHOCOLATE GLAZED DATES DESSERT

glazed dates chocolate dessert vegan

I had a full week (and I was a bit sick too), but today is the perfect day to come back to my blog:
it is Saturday, I have nothing to do but having relax, so, here I am.
Let's get back to us: be honest, my readers, how many time did you think, or listen to
THE MOST DELICIOUS FOOD IS ALWAYS ALSO THE WORST FOR HEALTH
?
I know, I know: every, single, time.
While you were at restaurant and were deciding on dessert-yes / dessert-NO NO NO.
While you were walking and bumped into the most inviting sweets shop window e-v-e-r.
Or while you were at your dentist's lounge, surrounded by all those pictures with
happy-teeth-with-vegetables and sad-teeth-with-chocolate-cakes (true story).
Anyway, we are led to believe that the most delicious things will make our bikini moment
as horrible as 3 hours line at postal office. So we always ask:WHYYY?! Why a beautiful,
inviting, glazed chocolate cake can't be as healthy as that celery lying in my fridge?
Maybe you don't know dates or, trust me, you should be more busy in eating them than
paying yourself existential questions.
Dates are amazing fruits from Mediterranean Africa, Israel and western Asia with heavenly taste
and lots of beneficial nutritional properties.
Because YES, there are so many natural delicious things to taste, it is our interest
discovering them and, today, I want to share with you a simple, incredibly tasty, dessert
you won't help but it!
(If you want know more about my recipes, here you find what you are looking for.)

//

Torniamo a noi: siate oneste, quante volte avete pensato, o sentito
IL CIBO PIÙ BUONO È SEMPRE ANCHE QUELLO CHE FA PIÙ MALE
?
Lo so, lo so: ogni, singola, volta.
Quando eravate al ristorante e stavate decidendo tra dessert-sì / dessert-NO NO NO.
denti-felici-con-verdure e denti-tristi-con-torte-al-cioccolato (storia vera).
a porvi domande esistenziali.

***

Time // Tempo:

10 min preparation + 10 min in fridge. // 10 min preparazione + 10 min in frigo.

Difficulty // Difficoltà:

Your dog could do it too. // Anche il vostro cane potrebbe farcela.

Ingredients // Ingredienti:

- Dates a go-go // Datteri a volontà
- 50 g (1,8 oz.) dark chocolate // 50 g di cioccolato fondente
- Shucked nuts // Noci sgusciate
- Sticks // Bastoncini da cucina.

How to // Come procedere:

1)
Mince grossly (really grossly) the chocolate. // Tritate molto (ma molto) grossolanamente
il cioccolato.

2)
Make chocolate melt in a small pot with low heat, blending to avoid that it attaches. // Fate

3)
Remove stalks from dates. // Rimuovete i piccioli dai datteri.

4)
Cut dates in half and remove pits. // Tagliate i datteri a metà e rimuovete i noccioli.

5)
Fill each date with half nut (or more, if your dates are big enough), then close them. It will
remain closed, thanks to their sticky nature.

6)
Insert the sticks in your dates. // Infilate i bastoncini nei datteri.

7)
Now dip the dates into the liquid chocolate (I don't know how I resisted drinking it all!) to cover
them all, then lay them on a dish.

8)
Put the dish in your fridge for about 10 minutes (or more, if you will eat this dessert at the end
of a dinner with friends).

9)
Voilà, your dessert is ready and, trust me, keep some dates a part for you, because they will
disappear as soon as you will serve them!
